The Gripper is a precision handheld grip dynamometer designed to provide objective, repeatable, and accurate strength measurements. Developed by Movement Assessment Technologies, it is an essential tool for clinicians, coaches, and rehabilitation professionals to assess muscle strength across various movement patterns.
Measures isometric and dynamic muscle strength with high accuracy.
Ergonomic design for comfortable use during testing.
Durable and lightweight construction for portability.
Digital display for easy reading of force output.
Rechargeable battery for extended use.
Compatible with the Tester Platform and Measurz app for standardized assessments.
Muscle strength assessment for performance testing.
Return-to-sport readiness evaluations.
Baseline strength testing and progress tracking.
Research and clinical use for objective force measurement.
Strength imbalance identification.
Your Gripper works in two testing modes - hold and live modes.
When your Gripper powers on, it defaults to the last testing mode it was used on.
The hold mode is preferred for using the device without the Measurz app. If using the Measurz app, we recommend using the live mode.
To switch modes, long press the 'unit' button. When you do this you will see either HOLD (hold mode) or LIVE (live mode) appear on the screen.
Gripper Buttons

Short push: to change between measuring units. Please ensure you have the same unit displayed as used in your Measurz app.
Long Push (3 seconds): switch operating modes. HOLD= hold mode - used without the Measurz app | LIVE= live mode - used with the Measurz app
ON/OFF (centre button): Self-explanatory.
TARE (right button):
Short push: Calibrate or re-zero to ensure accurate testing results.
For safe and effective use of the Gripper, follow these guidelines:
Ensure proper grip positioning: Users should hold the Gripper correctly for accurate readings and to avoid strain.
Use in a stable position: Sit or stand in a secure posture to prevent unintended movement affecting results.
Avoid excessive force: Do not exceed the deviceβs maximum force capacity to prevent damage.
Monitor user fatigue: Allow adequate rest between tests to ensure reliable measurements.
Store properly: Keep The Gripper in a clean, dry environment to maintain accuracy and durability.
Clean regularly: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the surface or display.
Check for damage: Inspect the device before each use for signs of wear or malfunction.
Do not drop: Impacts may affect calibration and measurement accuracy.
Supervise use when necessary: Ensure proper guidance when used by individuals unfamiliar with strength testing.
Avoid extreme temperatures: Store in a temperature-controlled environment to maintain sensor integrity.
Electrical Safety and Charging Guidelines
Use only the provided charger: Third-party chargers may cause damage or malfunction. 5V max charger compatibility.
