1. Product Information
Platez are a pair of wireless force plates designed by Movement Assessment Technologies for objective assessment of force production, balance and movement performance. The left and right plates connect to the Measurz app to capture and review assessment results.
Key Features:
Two independent force plates for left and right measurement.
Four load cells in each plate.
Highly portable.
Wireless Bluetooth connectivity with the Measurz app.
Designed for strength, balance and jump assessment workflows, subject to the tests available in the installed app version.
Compatible with the optional Platez Halo foam surround and the MAT Tester Platform.
Applications:
Bilateral and unilateral force assessment.
Jump and landing assessments using supported Measurz protocols.
Balance and weight-distribution assessments.
Repeated assessments and progress monitoring.

2. Before You Start
Inspect both plates for damage and check that they are clean, dry and free of obstructions.
Charge both plates using the supplied or manufacturer-approved charging equipment, following the instructions on the device.
Install or update Measurz on a compatible device and sign in.
Choose a firm, level, non-slip surface with sufficient clear space around the testing area.
Confirm that both plates are stable, correctly positioned and show zero load before commencing testing.
3. Connecting Platez to Measurz
Turn on both Platez devices using their labelled controls.
Open Measurz and navigate to the connected-device or assessment setup area.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect both left and right plates. Check device identification rather than relying solely on their physical position.
Wait until both plates show a successful connection and stable zero readings.
Select the appropriate assessment and follow the in-app instructions.
4. Performing an Assessment
Select the appropriate Platez assessment in Measurz.
Position the participant as required by the selected protocol and confirm they understand the movement.
Confirm both plates are stable and correctly zeroed with no participant standing on them, unless the protocol specifically instructs otherwise.
Start the assessment in Measurz and follow the on-screen timing and instructions.
Review the results, repeat trials when appropriate, and save the assessment to the correct client profile.
For valid comparisons, use consistent foot placement, instructions, warm-up, footwear and testing conditions across sessions. Use the protocol guidance in Measurz for each specific test.
5. Using Platez with the Halo and Tester Platform
The optional Platez Halo is an EVA foam surround designed to provide a larger surrounding landing area when Platez are used with the MAT Tester Platform. It helps users orient themselves and reduces the chance of landing partly on and partly off the plates.
Assemble the Tester Platform on a stable, level surface according to its own setup instructions.
Position both Platez correctly inside the designated testing area.
Fit the Halo sections around the Platez as intended; ensure sections sit flat and do not move underfoot.
Check that the Halo does not contact, compress, bridge or transfer force into the measurement surfaces in a way that affects readings.
Inspect for gaps, raised edges or trip hazards before any jumping assessment.
The Halo is not a crash mat or substitute for appropriate supervision and safe landing technique.
6. Safety Precautions
Use only on a level, stable and dry surface, with sufficient clear space and appropriate footwear for the selected test.
Supervise jumping and landing tests; progress the difficulty to suit the participant's capacity and confidence.
Do not test if either plate moves, rocks, is damaged or loses connection.
Do not allow anyone to land with a foot partly on and partly off a plate. Use the Halo where appropriate, but check alignment before every trial.
Stop immediately if the participant experiences pain, dizziness or loss of balance.
Never exceed the verified load limit stated in the final product specification.
Do not use foam accessories to mask uneven surfaces or unstable plate placement.
7. Accuracy and Calibration
Plates are calibrated during manufacturing. Before each session, visually inspect the plates, allow the system to settle and verify zero readings. If readings drift, appear inconsistent or differ unexpectedly between plates, stop testing and contact MAT Support rather than attempting an undocumented calibration procedure.
8. Troubleshooting
Cannot connect: check that both plates are powered on, charged and within Bluetooth range; confirm Bluetooth permissions and restart the connection process in Measurz.
Only one plate connects: verify that both plates are identifiable and available, then retry pairing as instructed in the app.
Unstable readings: remove any load, check the surface and plate alignment, and ensure the Halo or other objects are not touching the sensing surfaces.
Dropouts during a test: reduce distance to the phone or tablet and remove potential wireless obstructions; repeat the test only once a stable connection is restored.
Unexpected results: verify plate orientation, zero readings, protocol selection and consistent participant positioning.
9. Care, Storage and Support
Wipe surfaces with a soft, lightly damp cloth after use; do not immerse or pressure-wash.
Avoid strong solvents, excessive heat, prolonged moisture exposure and impacts.
Store and transport both plates securely to protect the housing and measuring components.
Use only approved charging accessories and follow the final battery-care guidance.
If an issue persists, contact MAT Support via the Measurz app or the MAT support channels, including screenshots and device details where possible.
